Phew!

It all went very well.
I have a lot of mainenance to do next day or two...Eldest made suggestions to make my computer go faster and left me with new hardware arriving and instructions on how to apply it to the machine. Hmm. Also new software which is currently so slow I can't bring myself to wait for it to finish doing anything.
Also new blogs to find and visit (yes, the family) and a lot of visiting to do, of blogs I neglected over the last few days.
And the printer went funny...I have a nasty feeling there was a bad batch of recycled ink cartridges.
And people want CDs of the family do.
And today I took tents down. I hope Barney will give me hundreds of brownie points for this!
Now I'm going to attempt to return a lot of stuff to places it may have come from and may not fit back into.
Oh and at one point everyone was saying Adam's going to make a flickr account so we can all post our pictures there. I mentioned this to Adam on our way to the station and he said, Oh no, you're going to do that. I am? Oh!
Bit more maintenance then!
More later :)

i think with the flickr thing, it wasn't a new account but just a tag title for us to attach to our pics. Adam did say it was him who would do it though!!!! If you can think of a nice unique title for the weekend, we can email it round us all and use it to tag our pics on flickr (I think this will work) .

Methinks Adam might have had a bit too much wine--or counted on YOU having a bit too much, one of the two? LOL

Ah well, what's another flickr account?!
Give you something to do because we all know how much free time you have on those hands of yours. *snickering*

Easy for ME to snicker cuz I'm not the one getting to do the work!
;-)
And of course you'll still post photos HERE, right?....right?! LOL
I do resist change!!

Good luck on all that computery stuff!

I'm pretty sure I was just organising the concepts :)

Anyway all it needs is a tag and then everyone can post photos to their own flickr accounts and people can search across them all

How about marlstongathering2006?(sicne clan or family gathering will bring up more than just ours)

Glad to hear all went well - the idea of organising such an obviously huge event fills me with horror, I'm really impressed!

Aha! Thanks Hannah and Adam...3 days later the boozy fog has cleared and I see that it's all quite simple after all!

Mangey, of course I am still here...Blimey, after all the months of love and effort I've put into this thing I couldn't abandon it. And no way could I live without all the thoughtful, friendly funny comments from my friends:) My flickr account has been running for a couple of weeks already and it seems to fit quite nicely with blogging.

Computery stuff under way Mel, I have added ram to my computer and as far as I can see it makes no difference to anything :) Yet! This may mean I didn't do it properly? Though all the little clips and buttons clicked into place nicely and I removed a ton of dust and stuff from it first. You may snigger, as I found the funniness of the computer was due to me putting a black cartridge nto the yellow ink slot!

Thanks Thursday. Have to say the whole thing went really smoothly mainly because of the enormous amount of willing and practical helping done by all the family. Everywhere I turned there seemed to be someone just quickly doing a 'bit' of washing up or putting away or setting out.

"the funniness of the computer was due to me putting a black cartridge nto the yellow ink slot"

That's sooooo something I'd do, Mig!

And bravo to the 'pitching in' kind of family you've got, Mig--sounds like their spirit made the event enjoyable for all!

*whew for photos remaining on the blog*

You underestimate the importance of you to the general running of things. Pretty much all I did was hand out occasional slices of melon, take orders for tea and coffee and provide drunken entertainment.

At least I checked Mel! Have been known to take machines back indignantly when I've done stuff like this before! I do usually remember to switch it on tho :)

Very entertaining drunkenness Frangelita :) And hugely useful taking of orders!
and of course, just being there and straightening my back...couldn't have done without you :)
