Just a quick one

Cos I've been struck with an upset tum. Last night I came and looked at blogs sadly as brain refused to consider anything other than lying down quietly (and it's really hard to comment or indeed reach the keyboard from a horizontal position). But today it's working a bit faster and by tomorrow I expect to be functioning more or less as normal.

The sky is full of little holes
To let the rain come in
The little holes are very small
And that's why rain is thin

(Spike Milligan, bless his manic little socks)*

Clearly you need a big hole in the clouds to let light come in.

*This is not meant to be unkind...I absolutely loved Spike Milligan.

Crepuscular rays!!
Crepuscular rays!!!!

Not only are they pretty 'spiritual feeling' and awesome to capture on film, they're just dang fun to announce repetitiously! ;-)

And who could ever say unkind things about Spike!?!

Hope the tummy's feeling better...

I'm glad the holes up in the sky are really very small,
Or the rain would fall in great big lumps
And probably squash us all!

Alright so it's not as good as Spike's - but then he had a gift with words!

we used to have a huge poetry book of silly poems at home and that rhyme was one I remember as a child! I also used to like

I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on my knife.

hope your tummy is soon up to eating peas and honey again x

Splendid word Mel! Tummy much better thankyou:)

That's brilliant Ferretlegs...captures the spirit of the whole hole in the sky thing perfectly.

The funny peas rhyme was one my parents used to offer me in hopes that I would eat peas Hannah, But they wouldn't give me any honey so the ploy failed.
