ID please anyone?

Spot the birdie.
Tha cat brought this little chap in this morning and he escaped into the waste paper basket. So while he was catching his breath (after being rescued from the among the paper) I took a quick picture. He wasn't flying very well though all his wings and things seemed fine. So I thought he might be a youngster. Slow developing and quite large for a baby. Cuckoo? any suggestions?

Mig, I love your blog!!!!!!!!!!! I've been reading it and I envy your photographic eye and your way with words!
Thank you so much again for hosting the loveliest of parties back in July. You are a fun and warm side of the family (all of you)
By the way, not idea about the bird. Love, Isabel

The CAT brought him in?!

BAD KITTY!!

I don't have a clue--your birdies are different from ours. I'm sure ILTV will have an answer for us--cuz now I'm beyond curious.
I do hope the little fella recuperated and has flown off to join his mom.

Sorry. ONE MORE time--

BADDDDDDD KITTY!

GreatI. I've been wondering if it was a thrush? Or maybe a young starling?

Oh hi ilr. Thankyou...it was LOVELY having you all around for the weekend. Hope you three enjoyed the camping (apart from the sleepless night) :)

Mel, the cat (she of the weird glowing eyes) is constantly bringing small wildlife in various damaged states into the house. She is a merciless hunter and I think she secretly hopes we will learn from her. Can't understand why I take the live ones out again! She believes we have a communication problem.

Well surely someone will know Thursday :) One day!
