Title? Can't think of one.

I was so entranced by this sky

that I failed entirely to notice a whole flock of rooks and two buzzards. But there they are, flocking all over my picture.

Does anyone know the collective noun for rooks?

update: Thanks Fran. A parliament of rooks.

i think it's something really dull like "colony", but there's surely a better country name... something is nagging in the back of my mind that I can't quite grasp. It may come to me later.

It's a parliament of rooks (according to my cunning dictionary with a list of collective nouns at the back).

Of course. It was nagging at me too. But I can hardly say they were parliamenting all over my sky.
Aah. Convening?
Hmm.

Easy mistake, but it's really a parliament of crooks.

Actiually, I thought it was a parliament of owls, or have I got muddled.

*dribbles, snores*

both owls and rooks can be found in parliaments (crooks too, obviously). and rooks also come in buildings or clamours.
I just looked them up in Dictionary.com.
