With the whole sky to choose from

I always get one of the empty bits.
Fred, how does a proper photographer find things in the dammned viewfinder before they fly away? I know you have to get ahead of them before you click..but you've got to be able to see where they were before you can get to where they're going to be!
I love jackdaws.

Beats me. I took about 20 shots the other day and all I managed to get was that damned blur bird every time - it's so common. I guess it needs lots and lots of practise. One of the advantages of digital photography - no wasted film.
