Summer-sitting (this was rightly yesterday's post but I forget to ....
Summer is our grandchild and she's staying the night. She is delightful. And bossy.
But very well behaved. I don't remember her mother going obediently and cheerfully to bed as soon as it was suggested. I don't remember myself going to bed obediently and cheerfully at any time or at any age. Odd. but nice.
There was lip quivering though when I insisted on making my own tea. Surely she doesn't make cups of tea at home? She's only three. Or maybe she thinks of us as playland. Anyway she is going to make chocolate cornflake crispies with Grandad tomorrow. We have the ingredients. She doesn't know this yet but I'm sure it will make her very happy.
I have to play my fiddle downstairs when she comes (or great grandad for that matter) since the music room is just opposite her/Fran's/GG's room. this upsets Mandu (the other cat) as she doesn't like me to play, and the Nutmeg (the dog) as he thinks if I am here I ought to be taking him out. In fact at this moment he's right. I ought to take him out and it will be a bit wild and wet and windy. which I shall like and he will hate. He's such a wimp.
